Caterpillar launched the Cat® 355 Hydraulic Excavator and Cat D5 Dozer for mining and heavy infrastructure applications, and the Cat 120 GC Motor Grader for road construction, at bauma CONEXPO India 2026. Visitors can experience Caterpillar’s integrated portfolio at stall O.E20 at the India Expo Centre in Delhi NCR from September 15-18.

Cat 355 Hydraulic Excavator: High productivity for severe applications
By combining robust performance, enhanced stability and simplified maintenance, the Cat 355 enables customers to maximize production and improve jobsite efficiency. Powered by a Cat C13B engine and electrohydraulic system, the Cat 355 is designed for demanding quarry and mining applications. The 355 WVG configuration offers a 4040 mm-wide undercarriage for greater stability. It can be configured with an optional 4.0 m³ severe duty bucket and 4.5 m³ heavy-duty bucket.
Three work mode options match performance to the application, while smart mode automatically balances engine and hydraulic power to help save fuel. Extended filter life, synchronized maintenance intervals, ground-level service points, automatic fan cleaning and onboard maintenance tracking help reduce downtime and operating costs.
Designed for maximum operator comfort and efficiency, the machine features intuitive controls, push-button start, customizable operator ID settings and a multilingual touchscreen providing easy access to machine information and onboard support. A spacious cab, air-suspension seat and ample storage support operator comfort throughout the day. Smaller cab pillars, larger windows, a flat engine hood and standard rearview camera improve safety and visibility. A ground-level engine shutoff, serrated steps and an anti-skid service platform support safe access and operation.
Cat D5 Dozer: Built for versatile performance, productivity and lower owning and operating costs
The Cat D5 Dozer combines performance, precision and efficiency to support demanding mining and heavy infrastructure applications. Powered by a Cat C7.1 engine and fully automatic transmission, the D5 is designed to deliver more power to the ground while improving fuel efficiency. A larger 4.3 m³ SU blade helps move more material, while available technology features and VPAT blade options enhance precision across a wide range of applications.
The D5 powertrain combines a 170 hp electronic engine, torque divider, fully automatic transmission and differential steering to deliver high productivity and fuel-efficient performance. Extended filter life grouped service points and easy access to routine maintenance areas help reduce downtime and maintenance costs. The elevated sprocket undercarriage, modular component design, optional 30-minute cab removal and reversible fan further simplify service and repairs.
A standard rear ladder provides easy access for fuelling, filter changes and rear window cleaning. Grab rails on both sides of the cab roof and tie-off points support safer maintenance activities, while multiple lighting options, a standard slope indicator, optional rearview camera and remote-control-ready operational capability help enhance jobsite safety based on application requirements.

The Cat 120 GC Motor Grader balances high-performance features with fuel-conscious operation, straightforward controls and low maintenance requirements. It is suited to low- to medium-duty applications including rural road maintenance and finish grading.
Powered by the Cat C4.4 engine, the 120 GC combines a powershift transmission and balanced machine design to deliver drawbar power to the ground. Electronic throttle control adapts power and torque to application demand, while standard eco mode can improve fuel economy compared to operating without eco mode. A familiar steering wheel and lever layout, a torque converter transmission and a predictable hydraulic system help simplify operation and support a consistent grade.
Long-life structures, hardened circle teeth and replaceable wear inserts support durability. Available features include circle saver, a reversing fan, digital blade slope meter, all-wheel drive, multiple moldboard widths, and front and rear attachments for specific grading applications.
