Advait Group Appoints Darshan Soni as Chief Executive Officer – Green Hydrogen, Solar & Fuel Cell to Spearhead Next Phase of Renewable Energy Expansion

Advait Energy Transitions (AETL), listed on the NSE and BSE, has announced the appointment of Darshan Soni as Chief Executive Officer – Green Hydrogen, Solar & Fuel Cell at its subsidiary, Advait Greenergy. The appointment strengthens leadership across these three businesses as the Group advances its clean energy manufacturing and project execution capabilities.

Soni brings 17 years of experience across hydrogen, ammonia, renewable energy and industrial energy infrastructure, combining entrepreneurial leadership with technology development, manufacturing, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), and strategic business development. His experience will support the Group’s focus on commercialising technologies, developing customer relationships and delivering commercially viable energy solutions.

The appointment comes as AETL builds complementary clean energy businesses alongside its established power transmission operations. Through its Group companies, AETL is developing capabilities across electrolyser manufacturing, green hydrogen projects, solar EPC and fuel cells, bringing together equipment, engineering and project delivery expertise.

The Group inaugurated its Phase I 30 MW alkaline electrolyser assembly facility in Gujarat on March 13, 2026. This operational base forms part of a phased roadmap towards 100 MW and subsequently 300 MW of integrated manufacturing capacity. AETL has also received allocations totalling 300 MW of annual electrolyser manufacturing capacity under SECI’s SIGHT Scheme across two tranches of 100 MW and 200 MW.

Soni’s appointment supports the next stage of this programme, with a focus on translating technology partnerships and manufacturing capabilities into customer orders, disciplined execution and sustainable business growth.

Prior to joining Advait Greenergy, Soni served as CEO of Mysore Ammonia Envirotech, a company operating across the downstream ammonia value chain. He was also the Founder and CEO of GASCOMP, an ONGC-backed venture focused on developing technologies for compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG) and hydrogen fuelling infrastructure.

Throughout his career, Soni has worked across business expansion, EPC execution, manufacturing, technology development and commercialisation, and strategic partnerships. His experience includes collaborations with leading public sector undertakings, industrial groups and international technology companies across India and overseas markets.

The appointment strengthens the Group’s leadership as AETL invests in the capabilities required for its next phase of growth. The focus remains on building commercially viable businesses, meeting customer commitments and converting manufacturing and execution capabilities into lasting value for shareholders and other stakeholders.

In his role as CEO, Soni will focus on accelerating business growth, strengthening operational and execution capabilities, expanding strategic partnerships and identifying new opportunities across solar, green hydrogen, fuel cells and decarbonisation. His mandate will also include supporting the development of commercially viable clean energy solutions and building businesses capable of delivering sustainable long-term value.

The company will continue focusing on technology partnerships, manufacturing development, project execution and strategic collaborations as it works towards building a stronger and more diversified presence across renewable energy, green hydrogen and industrial decarbonisation.
